TRIZ Approach

Thus most of the problems have been solved again and again at different times in different context in different sectors. This indicates that most of our problems are not faced by us for the first time. It is very likely that the same problem has been faced by other people and has already been solved. So why do we struggle too much about the solution, why not to look at different solutions of the same problem for different purposes at different parts of the world. This is what TRIZ says. The path of TRIZ solution goes from My Problem -> Analogous Standard problem -> Analogous Standard solution -> My solution.

The TRIZ approach is different from other approaches to creativity and problem solving in the following ways.

  • It is a rule based rational approach to creativity and not dream based random approach.
  • Our experience is not enough, use other people's experience to solve problems.
  • The contradiction is explored and eliminated and not avoided- Other processes try to avoid contradiction. TRIZ tries to solve contradiction.
  • All TRIZ techniques are derieved from real life solutions and patented inventions from past. The rules of past can be applied to solve future problems.
  • TRIZ believes that technology evolution trends are highly predictable. They are not random.
  • The goal is Ideal Final Result and not a perfect compromise.
  • The strongest solutions transform the unwanted or harmful elements of a system into useful resources.
